Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is a framework of procedures and techniques used to develop quality products in the automotive industry. Developed in collaboration between Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors, it can be applied to any product or industry. APQP is similar in many respects to the concepts of Design For Six Sigma (DFSS/DMADV) and provides a structured methodology for defining and establishing the steps necessary to ensure that a product satisfies the customer.
